Landspeeder: Visualization of Urban Planning

Researchers in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Illinois have
taken GIS data of Kane County in Illinois and have turned it into an interactive fly-through. The visualization shows roads, rivers, lakes,
areas of vegetation, residential housing and commercial districts. Under
Varkki George Pallathucheril's guidance, Rose Marshack has created this
day and night visualization using time-dependant data to allow planners to
view the impacts of urban growth and decay on the quality of life in a
commmunity.
