Color QPS in Physical 3D

The following rendering is the scalar magnetic field strength visualized as a color map on the simulated plasma boundary of the Quasi-Polloidal Stellerator fusion experiment. The plasma boundary scalar field is surrounded by the CAD geometry of the innermost set of magnet windings, which are within the reactor vessel. This image was rendered in Kitware's Visualization Toolkit (Vtk).

It turns out that Vtk's VRML Exporter produces an excellent CAD model, which is readable by the Z Corp large-format, color 3-D printer.

The following images are the direct, 3-D physical output of the CAD model on a Z Corp Z810 3-D Color Printer.
